What the hell happened to Christianity?
A very interesting article which I happen to believe. I am not much of a religious person, but I do hold to my beliefs. I think that there has been a radical shift in the sensibilities of this nations Christians. It has gone away from what Jesus taught and moved to a more radical view, which only serves to alienate. I always believed that the message of the Bible and Jesus were to love thy neighbor and to quote the article “come as you are, not as you should be.” The main view of the Political party, that sees itself as the spokesman for all of Christianity, is exactly the opposite. I am a firm believer that a persons faith is their faith, and should be no one else’s business. I also believe that our countries founding fathers had the right idea when they separated church and state. Unfortunately, it seems that our leaders have lost sight of this and are praying on the peoples beliefs to serve their own agenda. We would all do well, especially at this time of year, to remember what Christ’s message really was. Regardless of your faith or beliefs, the message of love your fellow man as you would love yourself is a universal concept that would make the world a much better place. OK I’m getting off my soapbox.
